Appointments Update

In line with the easing of COVID restrictions in England, we have implemented some planned changes to the clinic structure. Although we continued to offer face-to-face appointments along with telephone and video call; and maintained an open-door policy throughout the pandemic; we are looking forward to offering greater choice to Patients as noted below:

• Please click on the above image to submit an Online Consult regarding a medical or administrative query you have.

• GP and ANP (Prescribing Nurse Practitioner) telephone appointments can now be booked online via Patient Access. On booking, please state the problem for which you are attending. For full details of the conditions that are appropriate for a Nurse Practitioner please click here. Please do not present at the surgery for booked telephone calls, the Clinician will call you on the number provided.

• Face-to-face appointments are available with GPs, Nurses and Healthcare Assistant, if you feel your problem is better managed in person, please call the Practice on 01244 325421 to book in with the most appropriate clinician.

• Clinical Pharmacist Structured Medication Review appointments are available by calling the surgery. Pharmacists are experts in medicines; they are highly trained professionals who have knowledge of all things relating to medicines. From the right medicine for you and your condition, to knowledge about how different medicines work in the body.

• Practice Nurse & HCA appointments are available so please call to book in. We must remind all Patients of the importance of attending screening appointments, immunisations, and other long tern condition reviews when they are due. Whilst we understand many patients may still feel anxious attending the surgery, we want to reassure you we are doing everything we can to maintain your safety.

Please note,  failure to attend face-to-face appointments within 10 minutes of the appointment time and failure to answer the telephone call twice will result in the need to re-book.

If you attend the Practice in person, you will be asked to wear a mask as is the current regulation in all healthcare settings.

Missed Appointments

If, for any reason, you do not need an appointment already booked, please let us know so that we may offer the slot to another patient.

Please note,  failure to attend face-to-face appointments within 10 minutes of the appointment time and failure to answer the telephone call twice will result in the need to re-book.

Monday to Friday 8.00—18.30

The surgery opens at 08:00 Monday to Friday and patients are seen largely by appointment. The telephone is often busy early in the morning, therefore if your call is routine, please ring later in the day. You may see the clinician of your choice but try to keep to the same clinician for a single period of illness. Urgent problems are dealt with that day.

Patients are able to book routine appointments up to two weeks in advance, either in person, by telephone or via the website. Some appointments are also released on the day and 48 hours in advance in line with DoH guidelines.

Advanced Nurse/Nurse Practitioner Appointments

Advanced Nurse/ Nurse Practitioner appointments are available on the day and pre-bookable 14 days in advance. These clinics are run by a highly skilled nurse practitioner who is able to help with many illnesses such as sore throats, ear ache, chest infections and urine infections. The nurse practitioner has the ability to prescribe, and in the event that you need to be seen by a GP urgently she will be able to allocate you an emergency appointment that day.

Pill Check Appointments

We have a questionnaire for women who are happy on their COCP with no recent changes in their medical history or concerns. Patients will be invited to complete these by Reception when booking a pill check and GPs can also ask them to do this when signing repeat prescriptions. The form is available at Reception and online at

You will need to provide your BP and weight and can collect an STI swab screen from the toilets at the practice. If you still want to see a Nurse for a pill check then you are still able to book an appointment for a review.

If any issues are highlighted then we will make contact to arrange a telephone or face to face appointment to review any issues.

Emergency Appointments

If all our routine on the day appointments have been taken, but you feel it is a medical emergency that you need to see a clinician that day, you will be asked for a brief description of the problem and may be offered an emergency appointment with the On Call GP or signposted to an alternative service. Please note these emergency appointments are for clinical emergencies only and are not available instead of routine

Doctor Telephone Advice

It may be possible for you to have a telephone consultation with your Doctor or Nurse rather than coming into the surgery (providing this is clinically appropriate), so if you feel this would be right for you, please ask when you contact us to make the appointment. You will be given an approximate time when you will be called back for a 5 minute consultation, but if the Doctor decides that you need to be examined, we will arrange this for you.

Nurse Telephone Advice

If you have a question about your medication or treatment, or need health advice, it can be arranged for a nurse to call you back. This can be more convenient than coming to the practice for an appointment, but if the Nurse decides that you need to be examined, they will arrange this for you.

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to reallocate this appointment to someone else. Please note that standard appointments can be cancelled via Patient Access
