TRIAGE CLINIC CHANGESWe now offer a new improved triage system called
|

Our car park is now becoming full on a more regular basis during our busy periods (Monday & Wednesday mornings). When the car park is close to capacity there is now a tendency for non disabled patients to use the disabled spaces or to leave their car in the entrance or exit lanes, disadvantaging all of our other patients.
The number of drivers claiming a free disabled token now regularly exceeds the number of patients registered as disabled with us. In order to ensure that we can continue to provide car parking for all of our patients (and especially for our disabled patients), we will be asking all Blue Badge disabled drivers to present their updated permits @ Reception every two years (or upon renewal). Please bring your new (or existing) Blue Badge permit to Reception every two years in order that we can register you into our records. This will enable us to continue to issue a free car park token to all registered Blue Badge holders that are patients here.
OUR CURRENT COMPUTER SERVER SYSTEM IS NOW OVER FIVE YEARS OLD AND HAS STARTED TO BECOME UNRELIABLE AND PRONE TO BREAKDOWN. WE ARE THEREFORE REPLACING THE WHOLE SYSTEM, COMMENCING FRIDAY 12 NOON ON 5TH FEBRUARY 2010. WE EXPECT THE WORK TO BE COMPLETE BY SUNDAY 7TH FEBRUARY, ENABLING US TO BE OPEN AS NORMAL, ON MONDAY 8TH FEBRUARY 2010.
WE WILL HAVE ONLY VERY LIMITED ACCESS TO PATIENT RECORDS AND THIS MAKES NORMAL SERVICE IMPOSSIBLE. WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS FOR THAT AFTERNOON, GIVE OUT RESULTS OR TAKE BOOKINGS FOR NEW APPOINTMENTS ON THE AFTERNOON OF FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY 2010.
WE WILL BE OPEN TO SEE PATIENTS OR TALK TO OUR PATIENTS BY TELEPHONE, ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS ONLY.
WE WILL MAKE ADDITIONAL APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE BEFORE AND AFTER FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY TO REDUCE THE IMPACT ON WAITING TIMES.
WE APOLOGISE IN ADVANCE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE THIS WILL CAUSE ON THE DAY TO OUR PATIENTS. WE WILL UNDERTAKE TO MINIMISE THIS AS FAR AS POSSIBLE AND WOULD ASK FOR OUR PATIENTS UNDERSTANDING THAT DAY.
EMIS ACCESS WILL ALSO BE UNAVAILABLE FROM NOON ON FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY AND WE EXPECT TO RESUME NORMAL SERVICE ON SUNDAY 7TH FEBRUARY.

Boughton Health Centre have introduced a new service; an appointment reminder via mobile phone text message of your upcoming GP/Nurse appointment.
Currently the service will remind you once, the day before your appointment (or on a Friday should you appointment be on the Monday). You will be notified of the time, date and who the appointment is with.
We will also use this service to notify as many patients as possible of appointment cancellations should there be a problem at the surgery.
We are extremely mindful that patients may wish to opt out of this service for various reasons. For example; mobile phones/SIM cards are swapped & shared between family members which can raise confidentiality concerns.
Should you wish to either change your number or opt out completely please telephone the surgery (after 11am please), write to us or pop in to let us know. Your request will be passed to the system administrator who will be able to exclude you from the messenging system. Doing this will not remove your mobile number from your contact details with us so we are still able to reach you should there be a clinic cancellation for example.
From January 1st 2010 the self referral scheme to Chester Physiotherapy Centre will end - the centre will no longer be able to accept self referrals and patients will have to be referred into the service via the normal Choose and Book route. You will need to be referred via your GP.
There is a £1 car parking charge (for 1 hour). Exit tokens can be purchased at reception after your appointment. Registered disabled patients with a valid permit and families on Income Support are exempt. More ...
