Surgery Opening Hours

The Surgery opens at 8.00am Monday to Friday and patients are seen largely by appointment. The telephone is often busy early in the morning, therefore if your call is routine, please ring later in the day. You may see the doctor of your choice but try to keep to the same doctor for a single period of illness.
Urgent problems are dealt with that day. The triage nurse will assess the problem; if necessary you will be seen by the doctor. This may mean you will have to wait until a GP becomes free to see you.

New Extended Hours Service at St. MARTIN'S CLINIC (18.30 hrs to 20.00hrs and Saturday Mornings)

Patients can now make routine pre-booked appointments at the St Martin’s Clinic, St Martin’s Way Chester CH1 2NR Tel: 01244 – 343300. This service is provided by our Out of Hours provider for patients 18.30 hrs to 20.00hrs and Saturday mornings.

Non Appointment - Twice Daily - Nurse Led Emergency Triage Clinic

These clinics will be conducted by a Nurse Practitioner or Nursing Sister from 8.30 to 10.00 and 15.30 to 16.30. Please note that this is a walk-in/ sit and wait service. This service is for medical emergencies and is not an alternative to a routine same day appointment.
Our Nurse Practitioner has the ability to prescribe and to deal with many of our patient needs. In the event that you need to be seen by a GP urgently then they will be able to allocate you an emergency appointment that day.

GP / Nurse Telephone Advice Line

We provide a GP and Nurse Telephone Advice Line for patients not able to get into the surgery that day. Please telephone us on 01244 - 325421 before 10.00am to arrange for one of our GPs Practice Nurses to call you back for telephone advice. Alternatively you can contact NHS direct on 0845- 4647 on a 24/7 basis.

UNFORTUNATELY THE OUT OF HOURS SERVICE WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO OFFER REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS DURING THE EVENINGS, WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAYS.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ASK YOUR DOCTOR FOR YOUR REPEAT PRESCRIPTION DURING NORMAL SURGERY HOURS.
